Welcome to Class 3
Class 3 is made up of Year 5 and Year 6 children.
Our Class Teacher is Miss Wood and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Underwood and Mrs Dalton.
We love learning together and always try our best in everything we do. If you would like to know what about what we've been doing, please look through our page!
Autumn Term 2024
African Drumming and Dancing Workshop
We learnt how to play different rhythms on African drums and a traditional African dance.
Science-Electricity
In science we have been making circuits to investigate voltage and the impact this has on the brightness of a bulb.
WW2 Day
To engage pupils in our WW2 topic, we dressed up as evacuees with tags and gas masks. We also built shelters, looked at some real WW2 artefacts and tried some war-style food.
National Poetry Day 2024
To celebrate National Poetry Day, we studied and performed the Shakespearean poem, 'The Witches' Spell' from Macbeth.
Forest School
In forest school we have been making our own mallets out of wood using a range of tools.
Science
In science, we have been investigating light and its properties. We made shadow puppets and investigated how the size of the shadows changed when we moved the puppet closer and further from the light source. To learn about reflection, we made a maze and used mirrors to reflect light through it. We also made periscpoes out of different materials to investigate which material was the most reflective. We have been learning about refraction and investigated how it caused the light to change direction.
