Be Active
Sport and being active is essential- even more so in the world that we are creating for our children to grow up in. At Admiral Long, we strive to engage the children in a wide range of activites and sports that are based around the key fundamentals - Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. The children cover these aspects in each and every area of sport they are introduced to. The aim give the children an experience of a wide range of sport, instill a love for being active, teach children how to follow rules and adapt rules to make the games more achievable for everyone and allow children to develop their independent sport skills as well as their group/team sport skills. We work alongside some fabulous outside agencies to help promote excellence in sport either during normal school time or through after school clubs and competitions. We also have close links with local clubs too such as cricket and tennis as well as the children having weekly swimming lessons at Knaresborough Pool.
Y6 Quidditch
On Thursday 15th June 2023, Admiral Long CE Primay School along with Birstwith CE Primary School, Riply Endowed Primary School, Beckwithshaw Primary School and Kettlesing Primary school took part in a Quiddtch tournament. At the start of the event the children were put into the Hogwarts Houses by the sorting hat, then they went out onto the field to take part in the tournament. The teams played each other and had to score hoops with bludgers, whilst being stopped by the other teams and also to catch the Golden Snitch. A great time was had by all and we would like to thank the Admiral Long Trust for funding this event for our children. Well done to Hufflepuff, who won by only 10 points,

Jewellery
Admiral Long CE Primary School will follow the North Yorkshire guidance on the wearing of jewellery. For Health & Safety reasons no jewellery should be worn in school, if your child has pierced ears, one pair of small plain stud earrings will be allowed. Surgical tape should be used to cover any earrings during PE, this must be applied by parent/carer in the day of your child's PE lesson, unless your child is capable of applying this themselves
A plastic cap is required for swimming lessons
