Our School
Admiral Long C E Primary School is a village school in the heart of the local community but which also embraces children from other villages and the nearby towns of Harrogate and Ripon. It is a friendly and welcoming environment into which new pupils quickly settle. The children are split into 3 classes and the small class sizes allow individually tailored education for all pupils. This means that all the children make good progress both academically and in their social and emotional development.
The school is working in collaboration with the Goldsborough & Sicklinghall Federation which brings to our school extra experienced teachers to enhance our children's education.
The Building
Admiral Long CE School comprises of a number of buildings dated 1760, 1763, 1849 and 2001 built of traditional stone and slate roofs. The building complex stands on the north side of Admirals Way (B6165) between Ripley and Pateley Bridge within a large plot of land consisting of playgrounds, field and woods.
Recent additions in 1988 and 2001 have meant the school now comprises of two large airy classrooms, school hall and offices.
Community Links
The school has built partnerships with the village community. Harvest, Christmas and Easter celebrations take place in St Andrew's Church, situated opposite the school and Rev Paul Harford is a regular visitor into school to lead times of Collective Worship.
